Founder's Story
In the fall of 2024, Monica and Ransford, cofounders of NexDeed, came face-to-face with the growing crisis of title fraud. While preparing to purchase land in the Midwest to build their dream home, they were stunned to learn just two days before closing that the seller did not own the property.
The fraudulent transaction had already passed multiple layers of professional review, including a licensed real estate agent, broker, surveyor, and title company. Incredibly, it was not a real estate professional who uncovered the issue; it was a concerned neighbor who notified the rightful property owner, ultimately preventing Monica and Ransford from losing more than six figures.
This experience revealed a major flaw in the current system and sparked a mission. Determined to turn their close call into a solution, Monica and Ransford launched NexDeed, a digital platform designed to help homeowners protect their property titles with real-time alerts, monitoring, and verification tools. NexDeed was built from personal experience to offer what the traditional real estate process too often lacks: proactive protection.
